The enrollment of children in the first grade for the 2025-2026 school year started in Chisinau. During one hour, 382 applications were submitted through escoala.chisinau.md platform, Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the Education, Youth and Sports Division, announced in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

In the municipality of Chisinau, enrollment is possible at 121 public institutions. As many as 343 first grades are to be formed, with a total number of 9,590 students.

The estimated number of places is by 448 units higher compared to this year.

Particular changes in school enrollment were made and the registration period started one month earlier compared to the previous years.

“The first stage will take place between March 3 and April 30. Subsequently, parents will be informed if the children were accepted and will physically submit the files to the respective institutions," said Andrei Pavaloi.

All children from the corresponding school district, who reach the age of 7 by the beginning of the school year, must enroll in the first grade.

The second stage will be held during May 19-30. Within it, applications for enrollment of children from other school districts, on the unfilled places, but also of children who turn 7 years old after September 1, will also be accepted.

The exceptional situations of children who were not enrolled in the first grade during the two stages will be examined during August 20-30.
