Drugs to the value of 1 million lei were brought to the North Station in Chisinau by a bus coming from Odessa. They were hidden inside the engine of an electric hoist used to lift and handle heavy loads, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and Special Causes, it goes to about 1.8 kilograms of "PVP" drugs brought from Ukraine’s Odessa in the trunk of the bus.
Once the bus arrived at the North Station, the box was picked up by a 54-year-old man from Ștefan-Vodă. He had come with a rented car. At the exit of the station, the individual's car was searched, and the drugs were removed from the engine. The narcotic substances will be destroyed after a court sentence is pronounced.
The man was arrested and, at the request of prosecutors, was placed in preventive detention for 30 days by the Court of Chisinau City’s decision.
The investigation continues to identify the accomplices of the arrested man.
