Snowdrifts hold people hostage
Dozens of people have been saved this morning from snowdrifts.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the Causeni Emergencies Division and the Rescue Squad No.1 took nine minibuses with passengers out of snowdrifts earlier this morning. The minibuses and other units of transport got stuck in piles of snow near Troita-Noua village of Causeni district.
The snow piles destroyed 130 slates and 1.9 cubic meters of lumber in the roof of the Theoretical High School in Varatic village of Racsani district. The damage is assessed at about 10,500 lei.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the Causeni-Stefan-Voda road has not been cleared of snow by 4 A.M. The works to remove the snow from the national and international roads were going on at 8.30 A.M.
