“Solutia” helped several thousand people in four months
The charity foundation “Solutia” provided different types of assistance to several thousand people in the first four months of activity. According to the report presented by the foundation’s team, they received about 5,100 phone calls and granted over 2 000 requests.
“There were questioned 820 persons who complained about different problems, including technical and housing problems, and asked for legal and financial assistance. The foundation’s jurists provided 123 services and submitted 84 applications and 29 summonses to court,” the foundation’s executive director Corneliu Furculita said in a news conference.
The activists of “Solutia” visited at home invalids, pensioners and veterans, socially deprived families and persons. Seventy-two people received financial support to purchase drugs, domestic appliances, coal, wood and food products and to perform surgical operations.
In four months the foundation carried out important charity activities. It distributed 500 social parcels to veterans and pensioners on the Elderly People’s Day, 250 parcels with food products to members of the Association of the Deaf, 250 parcels to members of the Association of the Blind, and another 250 parcels to members of the National Invalid Training and Production Company “Bunatate”.
“Solutia” also donated two fridges and plates and dishes to the “Mother and Child” National Center. About 30,000 lamps were placed in over 650 apartment buildings in Chisinau and windows were glazed in 300 apartment buildings within the event “Let’s Light the City”. Corneliu Furculita said this event will be continued as they receive applications from more and more people.
The foundation also sponsored the Boxing Federation of Moldova to organize the Chisinau Municipality Cup and the National Boxing Championship.
The charity foundation “Solutia” is an apolitical organization launched on the initiative of lawmaker Igor Dodon on September 5, 2011.
