The 21 songs performed at the third contest Festival of Doinas, deciphered on notes, were published in the collection “Doina: Identity, destiny, enhancement”. The songs were also included in a CD attached to the collection. The book was launched by the festival’s organizational committee on April 15, IPN reports.
Contacted by IPN, coordinator of the festival Nina Jovmir said the collection was produced by the director of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Victor Ghilas, who is a Doctor of Arts Research. The book contains the 21 songs, speeches given at the scientific symposium entitled also “Doina: Identity, destiny, enhancement” and other articles.
The collection also includes a synthesis of the interviews with the promoters of the Romanian authentic music Teodora and Lenuta Purja. The mother and daughter from Romania’s Agries, Bistrita-Nasaud, took part in the third festival. The recital of the two Romanian singers was also added to the CD.
The third Festival of Doinas was held on October 21- 24, 2014. The event’s goal is to identify, register and improve the collection of authentic doinas. The Top Prize of last year’s contest went to Marcela Vuicu from Bulboci, Soroca.
