The decorative lighting of the Church “St Hierarch Nicolae”, which is located at 190 Stefan cel Mare Blvd., will be turned on in the evening of April 11, at 8pm, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Chisinau City Hall. The artistic illumination project was designed by IM Lumteh and cost about 180,000 lei. The Church “St Hierarch Nicolae” was built in 1901. It was designed by architect Vladimir Tiganco. The church is an architectural monument of national importance that was included in the Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Chisinau municipality. In 1940, the church was closed and the building was transformed into the Home of Culture of the Institute of Medicine. It was reopened in 1992. In 1992 – 1999, archpriest Vasile Petrache had served as the church’s bishop. Archpriest Petru Storoja was named bishop in 1999 and continues to work.
