The Chisinau City Hall switched on the decorative lighting at “Saint Trinity” Church in Chisinau. The project was worked out by IM Lumteh and the works cost 210,000 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the City Hall, “Saint Trinity” Church was built in 1862 on the territory of the former cemetery of Munceti village. This year, it is 150 years of the foundation of the church. It was one of the few churches of Chisinau that wasn’t closed. Services were held here during the Soviet regime as well.
The building is an architectural monument of national importance that was included in the Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Chisinau municipality. A parochial school opened in 1893 worked under the church during many years.
