For this year’s holidays, StarNet prepares a spectacular exhibition of ice figures for the residents of Chisinau. For the second year, the exhibit will be mounted in the center of Chisinau, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the company.
More than 20 heroes from fairytales, fir trees, small bells, deer and penguins, sculptured in ice, will be brought from fairytale books directly to the heart of Chisinau. The exhibit will last from December 24 until January 7, 2014. More than 10 tonnes of ice will be used to make the sculptures. The exhibition will end with a live show for sculpturing a three-meter high fir tree. Furthermore, there will be organized thematic evenings with traditional carols sung by groups from Chisinau and all over Moldova. The children will enjoy many surprises.
“Over the last two years, we couldn’t mount the exhibition owing to the weather conditions. The ice sculptures require constant temperatures of under 0 degrees Celsius. This year the weather forecasters promise the coldest winter in the last 100 years. That’s why we are convinced that the weather will be appropriate. This year the exhibition will be made by Romanian artists with rich experience and a lot of inspiration,” said Alexei Munteanu, StarNet marketing director.
The goal of the exhibition is to bring Chisinau closer to the great European capitals and to offer the residents memorable experiences and fairytale images.
