The Platform for Philanthropy Promotion and Development launched the annual “National Kindness Week” campaign on Monday, an event aimed at promoting generosity and social engagement across the country. The campaign seeks to mobilize individuals and organizations to take part in acts of kindness, thereby strengthening a culture of philanthropy, IPN reports.
According to organizers, “National Kindness Week” will kick off with a book donation for the Oncology Institute, a cooking class for residents of “Valeriu’s House” - a space dedicated to cancer patients - and the “Winter Shoes for a Child” initiative. Toward the end of the week, donor awareness workshops will be organized on various social causes, along with a food distribution event for the elderly.
“This week is a testament to the involvement of everyone—civil society, the business community, and everyday people who need a nudge and an example to unite and work together for a greater good,” said Doina Cernavca, President of the Platform for Philanthropy Promotion and Development and the NGO “Help a Person”.
“National Kindness Week” is now in its fourth consecutive year in the Republic of Moldova. The campaign’s launch event brought together representatives from NGOs, public authorities, and the business sector, under the slogan, “Kindness Begins with You”.
The Platform for Philanthropy Promotion and Development encourages businesses to identify and support social causes, public authorities to create a favorable legal framework for philanthropic involvement, and citizens to observe and respond to community needs.
