The streets in Chisinau will be cleared of snow during 24 hours of the snowfall. In case of heavy precipitation, the problems will be solved within 48 hours, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said, adding that priority will be given to the main streets. Afterward, there will be cleaned the secondary streets and the yards of apartment buildings, IPN reports.

In the November 25 meeting of heads of Chisinau services and divisions, the director of the municipal road maintenance company “Exdrupo” Efim Cheptanari said the snowplows are 80% ready for work. There were stored 9,500 cubic meters of antiskid material. The company also purchased four new pieces of snowplowing equipment that will be brought to Chisinau by the end of this year.

Public Amenities Division head Petru Gontea said they have the same old 18 units for cleaning sidewalks.

The head of the Public Transport Division Igor Gamretski warned the drivers that they must have winter tires on their vehicles starting with December 1.
