The Social-Democratic Party urged the opposition to fasten with nails the coffin of the ruling alliance. The coffin’s lid and nails were brought to the Palace of the Republic before the December 1 sitting of the legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports.
PSD chairman Victor Selin explained that the improvisation is a form of protest against the situation created in the country and forms part of the series of protests initiated by the Social-Democrats two weeks ago.
“The prices and tariffs in our country are higher than in Romania, Ukraine and Russia, while the salaries and pensions are paltry. The ruling alliance pursues policies against the people. The politicians want the ordinary people to die quicker so that they do not have to pay pensions and allowances. Down with the alliance! Down with the Government!” said Victor Selin.
The leader of the PSD, supported by several dozens of persons, tried to enter the Parliament’s assembly hall to hand over the lid of the Government’s coffin to the lawmakers, but they were not allowed to go in.
The supporters of the PSD announced that they will protest again on other days when the legislature and the Chisinau Municipal Council will hold meetings.
