Swimming during dog days is dangerous

Swimming can be banned if the temperatures come closer to 40 degrees Celsius because ponds become a favorable environment for pathogenic biological factors present in the water when temperatures are high. “When temperatures are over 30 degrees Celsius, the water warms to up to 22 degrees and becomes a thermostat for all the biological factors found in water. Thus, water poses threats,” Deputy Minister of Health Mihai Magdei told the press after the meeting of the extraordinary commission for public health, Info-Prim Neo reports. The deputy minister said the situation is better in Vadul lui Voda. “When the level of water in the Nistru rises, the doctors rejoice as the flowing water washes all the pathogens away,” said Mihai Magdei. Since May, samples of water have been collected from ponds once in ten days to identify the pathogens.
