Third Romanian Film Festival opens in Chisinau
The third Romanian Film Festival will take place in Chisinau, at the Gaudeamus Cultural Center, during September 6-12. During seven days, there will be shown six Romanian full-length and five short movies that won many international awards, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Romanian Cultural Institute.
The moviegoers can watch the full-length films “Memories from Golden Epoch I and II” (2009, script by Cristian Mungiu, direction by Ioana Uricaru, Hanno Hofer, Razvan Marculescu, Constantin Popescu, Cristian Mungiu), “The Happiest Girl in the World” (2008, direction by Radu Jude, script by Radu Jude and Augustina Stanciu), “Francesca” (2009, script and direction by Bobby Paunescu), “Katalin Varga” (2009, script and direction by Peter Strickland), 'The Other Irina” (2008, direction by Andrei Gruzsniczki, script by Ileana Muntean, Andrei Gruzsniczki, Mircea Staiculescu), “I Whistle when I Want to Whistle” (2010, direction by Florin Serban, script by Catalin Mitulescu and Florin Serban), and the short movies “The Lamp with Cap” (2006, direction by Radu Jude, script by Florin Lazarescu), “Oli's Wedding” (2009, script and direction by Tudor Jurgiu), “Stefan” (2007, direction by Stanca Radu, script by Simona Ghita and Stanca Radu), “Renovation” (2009, script and direction by Simona Ghita and Paul Negoescu), and “Derby” (2010, script and direction by Paul Negoescu). All the movies, except for Florin Serban's film, will be premiered in Moldova.
Discussions with invitees will take place on each day of the festival, before and after the screenings. On September 11 and 12, director Florin Serban will answer moviegoers' questions in two sessions.
The movies will be screened in the afternoon, after 4pm. Entrance is free of charge.
