Those without waste disposal contracts could be fined
Companies, organizations and household owners that don't have contracts for waste disposal services could be fined, if a proposal to this effect by MP Gheorghe Brega is adopted.
Gheorghe Brega has told Info-Prim Neo that while there are provisions that require such contracts, there are no sanctions provided for those who fail to comply.
He said the measure is needed because many households in urban areas don't have waste disposal contracts and they use common bins without paying, which also leads to their overloading, or throw their domestic waste in unauthorized places. In Chisinau, as many as 2,000 households don't have such contracts.
The parliamentarian is proposing fines ranging from 600 to 1,000 lei for individuals and from 2,000 to 4,000 lei for legal entities.
