Three education institutions to be renovated with Japanese funds

Three education institutions of Moldova will be rehabilitated with funds provided by the Government of Japan through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects “Kusanone”. The ceremony to sign the grants contracts to the value of over US$174,000 was held on March 6, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research said about US$100,000 will be used to replace the windows, doors and roofs of Chisinau Kindergarten No. 135 for children with visual impairments. Over US$34,000 will go to purchase modern equipment for the kitchen and laundry of the kindergarten of Capriana village of Straseni district. More than US$39,000 will be offered to the Theoretical Lyceum “Constantin Stere” of Soroca for renovating the eatery lavatories and sanitary facilities.

The “Kusanone” Program of the Government of Japan started to be implemented in Moldova in 2008. Almost US$350,000 was allocated in the period for rehabilitating the infrastructure of a number of social facilities.
