Three young men who are natives of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia were detained following the seizure of drugs worth over 5 million lei. The three were selling drugs on Telegram, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said the suspects are aged between 21 and 32. In mid-2023, the man from Moldova created a drug shop on Telegram. The citizen of Ukraine, who found refuge in Moldova, joined in later and was responsible for supplying drugs wholesale. In November 2023, they were joined by a citizen of Georgia, who rented a house in the suburbs of Chisinau, where he installed two ultramodern laboratories for growing hemp for sale.
Two of the suspects, those from Moldova and Ukraine, were caught in flagrante delicto, while placing drugs in secret places. Searches followed and more than 80 packets of the synthetic drug PVP (called “salt”) were found in their underwear and pockets. Other similar packets with the same type of drug were found near the place where they were detained, in a forest strip, weighing a total of about 200 grams. Later, more than 50 sachets with the same drug, scales used to portion quantities for sale, as well as an illegally owned pneumatic weapon were seized from their homes.
After the two were detained, searches were also carried out in the house rented by the citizen of Georgia. The two drug laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, where hemp was grown, 22 kilograms of marijuana buds in dry form, over 20 hemp plants in the vegetative phase, 25 dried hemp plants, 50 mushrooms with hallucinogenic effect, LSD stamps, bank cards, mobile phones and a signal pistol were found and seized there.
At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the Ciocana Court of Chisinau City ordered 30-day preventive arrest for the three.
