The former director of “Moldsilva” Forestry Agency, the head of the Natural Reserve “Padurea Domneasca” (“Domneasca Forest”) and its engineer will be tried in the case concerning the December 23, 2012 incident that resulted in the death of persons during hunting. At the prosecutors’ request, the last two were suspended from posts, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor Generals’ Office, the three are accused of five offenses, namely illegal hunting, falsification of public documents, abuse of power, persuasion to make false statements, and making of deceiving declarations. The defendants refused to make statements over the accusations made by the prosecutor against them. The three are judged outside prison.
The case is examined by the Falesti district court, which will also try the case of former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu, who is accused of illegal hunting and accidental shooting of Sorin Paciu during hunting in the Domneasca Forest.
