On April 5, the Republic of Moldova celebrates Savior's Day. On this occasion, the head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations came with a congratulatory message. And on the eve, during a solemn ceremony, 18 employees of the IGSU received distinctions, IPN reports.
"It is a holiday instituted by our society as a sign of gratitude and respect for the not easy work tirelessly done by each of you every day", reads the congratulatory message of IGSU chief Alexandru Oprea.
He noted the achievements made by rescuers and firefighters in all fields of activity. "I wish you the strength to continue with honor and responsibility the noble mission to which you dedicate yourselves", added Alexandru Oprea.
During a ceremony on Friday, 18 employees of the inspectorate received special ranks and were decorated. The event began with a memorial service for the 10 rescuers who lost their lives trying to save others.
