A number of tourism associations set the goal of cooperating in solving the problems existing in inbound truism. The final objective of the partnership agreement signed by these is to revitalize the tourism industry by systemic, structural and complex reforms, IPN reports.
Viorel Miron, chairman of the Tourism Development Association of Moldova, said he would like tourism in Moldova to absorb a higher number of visitors. Through the agency of the signed agreement, they aim to rethink the tourism regulation system. The associations aim to better include the tourist attractions in circuits and to develop them so that they better serve the guests of the Republic of Moldova.
Svetlana Lazar, chairwoman of the National Association of Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism, said the development and diversification of the touristic products in rural areas should be accelerated and rural businesses in areas with big tourism potential should be stimulated. There are now only 26 guesthouses in Moldova. When the attraction Orheiul Vechi was launched 17 years ago, they hoped the sector would develop more dynamically. Then experts said that Moldova should implement a facilitating framework for developing rural tourism, but this wasn’t done. If experts’ recommendations had been put into practice, about 700 guesthouses would have existed in Moldova in 2016.
Alexandru Filipski, president of the Tourism Promotion Federation of Moldova, noted that the state says tourism is a priority sector, but no concrete actions are taken in this regard and no appropriate budgets are approved. Emphasis should be shifted from the outbound tourism onto the inbound one. The Moldovan circuits are not sufficiently developed.
The partnership agreement was signed by the National Inbound Tourism Association of Moldova, the National Association of Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism, the Tourism Promotion Federation of Moldova the Tourism Development Association of Moldova and the Center for Wine Tourism Promotion of Moldova. The signatories invite all the tourism associations to join in.
