Trophies for best health professionals

Eleven laureates of the fifth Health Awards Gala were handed over trophies in a festive ceremony held at a hotel in Chisinau on April 11. The laureates were chosen out of a list of 51 teams and persons who filed a participation application during March 7-26, IPN reports.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Cebotari said the laureates were awarded for their merit and professionalism and also for their kindness, compassion, devotion and love for the people. “We need hundreds and even thousands of trophies as in each medical institution we have colleagues who do their noble job of saving lives with abnegation and diligence. I admit that a lot of work is yet to be done, but I’m sure that those European standards for the health system will be obtained only together with a consolidated team,” stated the minister.

Attending the event, Prime Minister Pavel Filip expressed his gratitude to the health professionals for their work, saying each doctor bears unequaled responsibility in their job. He noted that the governmental team will continue to make effort to strengthen the health system and banks on the involvement of the whole society in changing things for the benefit of the patients and doctors. “I assure you we are aware of all the problems that exist in the area in which you work. Our goal is shared by you – by doing reforms we want medical services of a high quality to be provided, confortable working conditions to be created and the deserved salaries to be paid,” stated the Premier.

The trophy for medical career was awarded to Doctor Habilitate in Medicine, emeritus surgeon Eugeniu Maloman. Doctor Habilitate in Medicine Sergiu Matcovschi, who has a university teaching experience of over 30 years, was awarded for teaching activity. The trophy for the best management of medical institutions went to Ludmila Birca, director of the municipal clinical children’s hospital of contagious diseases. The team of Elena Caraus of the Chiscareni Health Center in Sangerei district was named the best family doctor’s team.

The team of the emergency medical assistance substation Centru was named the best emergency medical assistance team. The team of CASMED was designated as the best team of medical assistants, while the team of the Multidrug Resistant Division of the Institute of Phthisiopneumology “Chiril Draganiuc” as the best specialized team/section. The team of the Balti Section for Relations with Beneficiaries of the Nord Local Agency of the National Health Insurance Company was named the best team in promoting the mandatory health insurance system.

The team of the Specific Prophylaxis Center of the National Public Health Agency was awarded for the most successful activity in public health in 2017. Journalist Irina Lencautan was named the best journalist in health, while the Association of Medical Students and Residents of Moldova was nominated the most active NGO.

The Head of the World Health Organization Country Office in Moldova Haris Hajrulahovic received a diploma of recognition.

The Health Awards Gala 2018 was organized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection in partnership with the World Health Organization Office in Moldova, the National Health Insurance Company and the Center for Health Information and Communication.
