A large truck with about 30 tonnes of ethyl alcohol brought from the Transnistrian region went ablaze near Cimislia town in the evening of September 5, at about 6pm.

Head of the press service of the General Police Inspectorate Sabina Cojusnean has told IPN that owing to a technical fault in the braking system, the driver could not stop the unit of transport and ran into a filling station. The truck overturned and caught fire.

The truck’s driver, who is from Tiraspol, was admitted to the Cimislia District Hospital and is now out of danger. He told the police that he had the required documents for the transported alcohol, but they were destroyed by the fire.
