Two firemen were killed and another two were hurt in a large fire that occurred in a store in Telenesti town this morning, November 26, IPN reports.

Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the fire started in a two-story shop at about 3:30am and was localized close to 6am. The flames affected over 200 square meters of the building’s area. Two firefighters, aged 21 and 24, lost their lives. Another two firefighters, of 24 and 35, were rushed to the hospital with injuries.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the last case of death in the line of duty happened in 2007, when a firefighter was killed while extinguishing a vegetation fire.
