Two Moldovans fighting to represent Romania at 2009 Eurovision

Two Moldovan singers – Tina and Catalin Josan – will compete on Saturday to become Romania's entry for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ex-POPS member Tina Geru and Catalin Josan, the first winner of the Romanian popular TV project Megastar, have qualified for Romania's national final after getting through two semifinals on January 27 and 29. They were elected by the vote of the public and the jury, along with ten other hopefuls. Catalin will step onstage Saturday night (start time 8:15 p.m.) at number eight to perform “Stop” (composer: Eduard Carcota, lyrics writer: Cristan Hriscu-Badea). Tina will come in at number eleven to sing “Pleaca” (“Go Away”) (composer and lyrics writer: Cornel Ilie). The 54th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Moscow during 12-16 May 2009.
