The Cabinet decided to create the Technical Surveillance Agency that will exercise state control in the area of safety of hazardous industrial objects, construction and urban planning, IPN reports.

The Agency will ensure state surveillance of anti-fire safety and civic protection measures and will monitor the observance of the anti-fire norms. The collected information will be presented to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service that will be able to use it to intervene in case of fire.

The Technical Surveillance Agency will take over from the Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources, the State Main Inspectorate for Technical Surveillance of Hazardous Industrial Objects, the State Construction Inspectorate and the State Inspectorate for Geodesic, Technical and Regime Surveillance.

In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved the creation of the Inspectorate for Environment Protection that will exercise government control in such areas as protection of environment, atmospheric air, forest, fish, water and soil resources and the use of subsoil and natural resources. This will take over from the State Ecological Inspectorate and the Pisciculture Service.
