Two young men arrested after fight in Bujor, one of victims transferred to Chisinau

Two young men who are brothers were arrested by the police, while another man was hospitalized after they had a fight in Bujor village of Hâncești district with knives and a hammer.

Contacted by IPN for details, Cristina Vicol, press officer of the Hâncești Police Inspectorate, said the fight started as a result of a misunderstanding, on the street. The suspects drank alcoholic beverages. They both had been earlier in conflict with the law.

The two brothers, aged 20 and 22, are from Mingir. They went to Bujor to amuse themselves. They didn’t know the victims. In the evening of the fight, they saw each other for the first time. They had the weapons – knives and a metal hammer – in their car. The suspects risk three to seven years in jail.

One of the victims aged 28 was admitted to the Hâncești District Hospital in a serious state.

Update /10:56am/ A man aged 28, who was involved in the altercation, was transferred from the Hâncești District Hospital to the Emergency Medicine Institute in Chisinau. Dorina Arsene, spokeswoman for the Institute, has told IPN that the patient was admitted to the Surgery Unit. He suffered a stab wound that penetrated the abdominal wall, but his internal organs weren’t affected. He wasn’t operated. He is now in a serious, but stable state and is receiving treatment. Another man aged 31 is receiving treatment at home.
