The national Under-21 football team of Moldova was defeated by Romania’s similar team 0-3 in an exhibition game played in Tiraspol on February 6, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The guests had a more resolute offensive and opened the score in the 21st minute through Nicolae Stanciu. Moldova tried to draw, but all in vain. Romania’s Alin Carstocea and Andrei Manole scored by a goal towards the end of the game.
“We played without three main fullbacks. Furthermore, out combinative game was unsuccessful. We tested several new players so as to choose the lineup for a new preliminary campaign,” said coach Alexandru Kurteyan.
It was the last test of the readiness of the U-21 squad for the 2015 European Championship qualifiers. They will play abroad the first match against Wales on March 22.
