Unemployed persons will receive social support from trade union

The Moldovans who do not have a permanent job can apply for social support to the People’s Trade Union of the Unemployed “Social Protection”. The trade union was founded last October and now has 19 local offices all over Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The crisis still affects important sectors of the national economy and many people remain out of work. Most of the trade unions in Moldova do not fulfill their obligations and do not help the unemployed persons,” the trade union’s head Alexandr Reahovschi said in a news conference. In a communiqué, the People’s Trade Union of the Unemployed “Social Protection” says that its major objectives are to socially protect the jobless people, help solve social problems and to improve the living standards. “We are working on a number of projects. We will submit them to the Government with which we want to establish partnership relations and provide assistance,” said Tatiana Madam, a representative of the trade union’s student and young specialist organization. “We want a unified Moldova with European prospects, a socially-oriented state with an advanced economy and decent living conditions,” she added. The People’s Trade Union of the Unemployed “Social Protection” was founded by unemployed persons, pensioners, solitary mothers, war veterans, students, young specialists, and other groups of people.
