An Ungheni man has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for killing his infant daughter because she wouldn't stop crying, the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a press release.
It happened in May in the village of Macaresti. The man was drunk when he violently struck the 6-month-old because her crying wouldn’t let him sleep.
The child died immediately, with the coroner examination revealing that the death was caused by a blunt trauma that induced a cardiac arrest. The sentence can be appealed.
