All the rooms of dormitory No. 2 of the Moldova State University of Moldova (USM) are to be replanned according to modern standards. The Ministry of Education and Research announced that the extensive repairs to the building started and the reconstruction will last for six months, IPN reports.

The works include the complete replacement of the interior heating, electricity and signaling networks and the modernization of the municipal water and sewerage systems. Likewise, a new ventilation system will be built and the roof will be rebuilt.

The investments worth €1.8 million are made within the Moldova Higher Education Project, implemented by the Ministry of Education and Research and financed by the World Bank. A total of 172 students of the university will have access to better living conditions during the years of study, the Ministry of Education said.

Dorm No.5 of "Ion Creangă" State Teacher Training University, which is located at 154/2 Suceava St in Chisinau and has a capacity of 210 places, is also being reconstructed with the World Bank’s support.
