The tenth National Festival “La Poalele Tiglei” (“Under the Tile”) is held in Vasieni village of Ialoveni district. The contest “Casa mare” to show knowledge of the traditions of laying out the “big room” of the house will represent the culmination of the event. The festival also includes a Show of National Costumes, IPN reports.
“This is an anniversary edition and it brings together craftspeople from a number of districts, such as Ialoveni, Criuleni, Calarasi and Soroca. Besides craftspeople, we also invited competing groups that will lay out “Casa Mare” in a tent provided by us. The goal of the festival is to promote the values and traditions of our people because we have such a nice culture,” said the director of the District Museum of History and Ethnography “Anatol Candu” of Vasieni Diana Candu.
The previous editions of the festival took place under a particular theme. This year, given that it is an anniversary edition, the participants chose by themselves under what theme to compete.
The festival involves dancers and animators who will stage recreational games for children, with trampolines and other equipment. The ten groups invited to take part in the event will be awarded. The craftspeople will also receive presents.
Besides the festival, a park called “La Poalele Tiglei” will be inaugurated in Vasieni.
The festival starts at 2pm. It has been annually held on August 28 as of 2007.
