Veaceslav Gojan – sportsman of 2008

The Sports Agency appointed the best sportsmen of 2008 on Wednesday evening at the Opera and Ballet Theater. The best sportsman of 2008 is pugilist Veaceslav Gojan from Grimancauti, who won the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics and the silver medal at the World Cup held recently in Moscow. The title of the best coach of 2008 was given to Petru Caduc, a Moldovan honored coach, the main coach of the boxing national team. The best team of 2008 is the sports dancing ensemble Codreanca. The top of the best sportsmen of the year includes: Natalia Levcenkov, a European Champion of biathlon (II place); Ludmila Cristea, who got the silver medal at the European championships of women wrestling (III place); weight lifter Alexandru Dudoglo (IV place); boxer Vitalie Grusac (V place); athlete Ion Luchianov (VI place); pugilist Victor Cotiujanschi, winner of a bronze medal at the European championships (VII place); weight lifter Igor Grabucea, awarded at the European championships (IX place), and at the Beijing Olympics (VIII place); boxer Alexandru Rascan from Tiraspol (IX place) and Marin Cazacu, who won the prize at the international competitions of Greek-Roman wrestling (X place).
