Veaceslav Zaporojan, who is the only candidate who passed the first two tests of the contest to fill the post of Constitutional Court judge on behalf of the Government, was also successful in the public interview stage. Thus, the commission for selecting candidates fielded Veaceslav Zaporojan to the Cabinet for confirmation by a unanimous vote, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
According to the Commission members, Veaceslav Zaporojan provided reasonable answers to all the questions put to him in the public interview.
In his presentation, Veaceslav Zaporojan said that if he is elected to this post, he will employ all his knowledge and experience accumulated as a lawyer, teacher and as an assistant at the Constitutional Court.
“This is a serious challenge for me and I hope to obtain this responsible post. I always believed that a Constitutional Court consists of the wisest persons of society, who should solve the political-juridical problems existing in society and should ease the political tensions so that just legal solutions are found,” stated the candidate.
Seven persons have applied for the post of Constitutional Court judge on behalf of the Government.
