Vehicle inspection will be supervised by cameras
Surveillance cameras will be set up at vehicle testing stations to monitor the entire process. A decision to this effect was approved by the Government. The authenticity of the vehicle identification numbers and the information about the car owner will not be checked by the traffic police, but by experts of the testing stations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Boris Gherasim, the surveillance cameras will help prevent cases of corruption at the inspection stations.
By the same decision, the Government made changes to the overhaul tariffs system. The tariffs will be set not depending on the cylindrical volume as until now, but on the weight of the car.
The number of tariffs was decreased from 20 to eight. Some of the tariffs will be increased by up to 100 lei, while others will be reduced.
