What does the Romanian write?
“What does the Romanian write?” – is the question asked by the jury of the fourth edition of the Romanian Dramaturgy Contest that forms part of the Romanian Dramaturgy Festival whose fifteenth edition will be held during November 3 – 11, 2009, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Timisoara National Theater, as organizer, invites all the Romanian beginning or well-known dramatists that live in Romania or form part of the community to the contest. The major aim of the contest is to select and promote new theater plays that have never been staged. There are no thematic restrictions.
The texts must be submitted to the secretariat of the Timisoara National Theater by June 10, 2009, mail date.
The plays must be placed in an envelope with the words “for the National Romanian Dramaturgy Contest and sent to the address: Timisoara National Theater, 2 Marasesti St 300086 Timisoara, Romania. This envelope should contain a smaller envelope on which it will be written the title of the play. This second, sealed envelope that will contain the data of the authors will be opened by the jury after deciding the winning texts. For selection, the plays will be edited in electronic format with diacritical marks. The plays that will participate in the contest will not be sent back to authors. The authors that will not indicate their data in the sealed envelope will not participate.
The best play will be awarded the Eugene Ionesco Prize at the Romanian Dramaturgy Festival 2009.
The jury will be composed of president, director general of the Culture and Cults Division of the Ministry of Culture, Cults and National Patrimony Dan Marius Zarafescu, theater critic Cristina Modreanu, theater critic Anca Rotescu, theater critic Doru Mares, theater critic Ion Cocora, artistic adviser at the Timisoara National Theater Mariana Voicu, artistic adviser at the Timisoara National Theater Stefan Iordanescu.
