The selection commission chose Oleg Rotari to fill the post of Government Agent at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The candidate is to be confirmed by the Government, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Justice, Oleg Rotari is a bachelor and a master of law who studied also philology (German – English). For almost five years, he has worked as a delegated jurist at ECHR. During June 2008 – November 2009, Rotari had held the post of consultant at the Ministry of Justice’s Government Agent Division.
Under the legislation, the ECHR will be notified of the appointment through Moldova’s Permanent Representative Office at the Council of Europe.
Oleg Rotari won the contest with a final score of 9.5 out of 10. He took a written test, an interview and a test of proficiency in the official languages of the EU.
During March 2016 - April 2017, the post of governmental agent had been held by Marin Gurin. In October 2016, this was assigned by the Government to work on an assistance mission in Mali. Earlier, this post was held by Lilian Apostol, Vladimir Grosu, Vitalie Parlog and Vitalie Nagachevski.
