Winter boots for about 10,000 children from socially disfavored families

Approximately 10,000 children placed in alternative care services and from socially disadvantaged families from all the country’s districts received winter boots. On December 15, representatives of the Children’s Emergency Relief International in Moldova and Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Stela Grigoras distributed shoes to children in Orhei, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the footwear was purchased within the project to provide children and young people in alternative care forms and those from socially disfavored families with winter boots for the 2017-2018 cold season. Thus, about 10,000 pairs of shoes were distributed to children from all the country’s districts this season. In Orhei district, there were offered about 300 pairs of boots.
 
Starting with 2001 until present, the Children’s Emergency Relief International distributed over 110,000 pairs of boots and socks to orphans and beneficiaries from national residential institutions.
