A woman aged 62 was found dead in her house in Bujor village of Hancesti district. The mattress and linen on her bed were destroyed by fire. The first examinations showed the fire was caused by the stove and this stopped burning by itself. Villagers found the woman dead and firefighters weren’t called out, IPN has learned from the General Inspectorate for Emergencies.

A number of 73 fires occurred in Moldova owing to faulty stoves and chimneys so far this year. They claimed 27 lives.

The General Inspectorate for Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior warns to attentively use heating sources and installations and to seek help from specialists when these do not work properly. In emergencies, one should call 901.
