Young man beaten and burned alive by drinking companions

Two passersby alerted the police after they discovered the body of a man near the cemetery of Opaci village, Causeni district. It was established that the 23-year-old man was beaten and burned alive in the hole in which he lay, Info-Prim Neo reports. The suspects arrested by the police – two villagers aged 24 and 28 – confessed that in the evening of April 12 they drank alcohol together with the victim and then went to carouse in the village. On the way, they started to quarrel and then to fight. The two young men hit the victim with a table leg in the head. They said the man was still alive when they threw him into a hole, covered him with grass and set him on fire. The culprits are liable to up to 25 years’ imprisonment.
