A man aged 26 died in a car accident not far from Codreanca village of Strășeni village.

Mariana Didenco, press officer of the Strățeni Police Inspectorate, has told IPN that the young man was driving a car on the Chisinau-Bălțin road, heading for Chisinau. It is presumed that he fell asleep and struck laterally a truck driven by a man aged 61, which was coming from the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision, the two units of transport overturned outside the roadway. The impact was fatal for the younger driver. Blood samples were taken from this to determine if he was inebriated.

Legal action was taken in this case.

Update /13:47/ The Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and all Moldova in a press release said that the young man who died in the road accident on June 17 is Deacon Gheorghe Cioruța, of Saint Archangel Church of the Municipal Clinical Hospital “Saint Archangel Mikhail” of the municipality of Chisinau. Deacon Gheorghe Cioruța left a grieving wife and a child aged one year.
