Young members of the Local Council of Children and Young People of Chisinau municipality proposed launching a campaign to collect used domestic appliances. They put forward such an idea after seeing methods of collecting and processing cast-off equipment in Sweden.
Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, has told IPN that five members of the Council paid a one-week visit to Sweden within a Moldovan-Swedish partnership project between the youth and the local public administration. As part of the three-year-project, young people from Moldova will exchange experience with young people from Sweden.
“I’m glad that our children perceive things this way. They have views similar to those of people who grew up in an environment with many possibilities. We have many extraordinary young people, with very clear visions,” said Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb.
She informed that the used domestic appliances will be collected through the agency of Chisinau students and will be recycled at a factory in Orhei. The campaign will be launched in autumn.
