Young people informed about programs of Energy and Biomass Project

Those who came to the Youth Festival on the pedestrian street of Chisinau on August 12 were able to familiarize themselves with the programs of the Energy and Biomass Project at a stand set up at the Fair of Youth Organizations. Dozens of curious young people expressed readiness to learn about the programs under implementation, which are co-financed by the EU, and about the offered opportunities, IPN reports.

Ina Prisacaru-Zglavuta, communication and mass media specialist of the Energy and Biomass Project, said one of the programs refers to the subsidization of the purchase of biomass boilers. The EU reimburses partially the purchase costs for families, micro-enterprises and small enterprises. The subsidy amount is €1,300 and €700, set-up depending on the technical parameters of the selected boiler.

Another program extends the Energy and Biomass Project to cover such public institutions as schools and nurseries in different regions of the country. There are also promoted education initiatives. Students do a renewable energy and energy efficiency course and the best of them can go to the Summer Camp “Energel”.

The competition “Moldova Eco-Energetica 2015” was also promoted through the stand. “It is a contest to award the best initiatives and we also have the category Best Youth Initiative in promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency,” said Ina Prisacaru-Zglavuta. The winning projects will be awarded in December.

The Fair of Youth Organizations was mounted as part of the Youth Festival that is organized by the National Youth Council of Moldova on the occasion of the International Youth Day.
