Young people swindled out of thousands of euros picket Government Building
The young people who, in a news conference five days ago, asked the authorities to intervene in a case of swindle involving a consultancy company that promised workplaces in Canada and the United States Monday picketed the Government Building. They submitted an application to the Premier, demanding that they be provided with an answer within three days. Otherwise, they will stage new protests, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The protesters said they paid €2,000 to €3,000 to Global Business Consulting. According to them, its owner would have collected more than €300,000, sold the company and disappeared. “The law enforcement bodies did not react to the news conference we held on October 26. The Ministry of Justice only announced that five criminal cases were opened against the company’s director Petru Jitaru, but there are not enough proofs,” said Ana Axenti, one of the victims.
In their application, the young people asked the Premier to hasten the investigation of the case. “We paid the money last year. I had to be in the U.S. now,” said protester Sergiu Bulat.
Another young man, Vitalie Plop said he is protesting against the legal system that is aimed against the population. “Global Business Consulting promised us working contracts abroad, but cheated us and stole our money. We sought help from the law enforcement bodies, but all in vain. We want justice to be made,” he stated.
Tudor Darie, adviser to Prime Minister Vlad Filat, came out and said that the Government will do everything possible to help them. “Vlad Filat instructed Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu and the director of the Anticorruption Center Viorel Chetraru to monitor this case and hasten the investigation so that the case be quicker sent to the Prosecutor’s Office, which is to formulate the official accusations against the persons to blame,” said the adviser.
