18 choirs to perform at “Gavriil Musicescu” Festival

18 children’s and youth choirs of Moldovan artistic education institutions will take part in the fourth National Choir Festival “Gavriil Musicescu” that will be held in Chisinau on May 7-8, IPN reports.

The head of the Culture Ministry’s information and communication service Ala Paslariuc said the special invitee of this year’s festival is the conductor of the Children’s Choir of Radio Romania and of the Romanian Youth Choir “Sound” Voicu Popescu.

The festival will be opened by the children’s and youth choirs of national artistic education institutions at the National Philharmonic “Sergei Lunkevich” on May 7, at 11am. On May 8, Master Voicu Popescu, together with the children’s choirs “Voices of Spring” and “Adoramus”, will give a practical lesson at the National Philharmonic, starting at 10am. The Laureates Gala will be held at the Organ Hall the same day, starting at 2pm.

The event is organized by the Union of Musicians of Moldova in partnership with the Culture Ministry of Moldova, the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” and the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council.

Entrance is free of charge.
