The Ministry of Regional Development and Construction finished drafting the bill on the energy performance of buildings. Iurie Socol, division head at the Ministry, said the bill is to be endorsed and will be soon submitted to the Government for approval. There will be also examined a series of technical norms for implementing this law, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”We will follow energy consumption in the buildings that will be erected. Compared with the blocks constructed in 1970- 1980, energy consumption there is planned to be about two times lower, while compared with the buildings erected now – by about 30% lower. This means that the developers will have to use materials and technologies that will ensure this reduction,” stated Iurie Socol.
The bill also envisions instituting the building’s energy certificate. When the building is put into operation, the potential dwellers or users of offices will be provided with information about energy consumption.
The bill was correlated with the national plan for increasing energy efficiency for 2013- 2015.
