A man from Chetrosica Noua village of Edinet district faces 15 years in prison for cultivating hemp, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the website of the Ministry of the Interior. Upon a search, the police found dried hemp plants and a packet with 677 grams of marijuana in the attic of the 35-year-old man. Hemp plants were also found in his garden. According to the Ministry, the man grew hemp in order to make marijuana. He had been earlier tried for similar offences. Employees of the Drochia District Police Commissariat also found hemp in the garden of a man aged 43 from Baroncea village and in the house of a 78-year-old man from Mindic village. Legal action was taken against the two men, who face fines of 4,000 to 8,000 lei.
