The chairman of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and public order Lilian Carp confirms that the convicted MP Alexandr Nesterovschi is in the Transnistrian region. "You can't hide indefinitely in a “shed” in Tiraspol," said Lilian Carp.

Carp's comments come after Transnistrian chief negotiator Vitali Igantiev said that Nesterovschi is not on the territory of the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.

"They will always deny it. Let's not forget that, even when they are caught red-handed, they say that they are not involved. This is how the services of the Russian Federation act. Nothing new under the sun. We know exactly where he is," said Lilian Carp.

According to him, sooner or later the convicted MP will end up in jail, where he should actually be.

Lilian Carp also said that, in due time, information about Nesterovschi's whereabouts will emerge.

MP Alexandr Nesterovschi was sentenced to 12 years in a closed prison and fined 500,000 lei. The decision was pronounced on March 19 by the Buiucani Court of Chisinau City in the absence of the parliamentarian. On March 31, the Security and Intelligence Service announced that the Russian Federation helped Nesterovschi reach the Transnistrian region. A day before the sentence was pronounced, he entered the precincts of the Embassy of Russia in Chisinau and then was transported by a vehicle with a diplomatic license plate to the Transnistrian region, where he is until now, under the direct protection of the Russian intelligence services.
