Children will also have diplomatic passports

The children of government officials will no longer be included in parents’ diplomatic passports as they will have their own diplomatic passports. A relevant legislative initiative put forward by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration was approved by the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities, Info-Prim Neo reports. No additional costs will be incurred. The Ministry already bought the electronic chips needed to issue diplomatic passports. Equipment for taking fingerprints and photographs was purchased with EU funds. It will be installed at Moldova’s embassies and consular offices abroad and will be used for the employees who will apply for diplomatic and work passports. The persons whose fingerprints it is physically impossible to take and the children under 12 will be exempted from having their fingerprints in the diplomatic and work passports. When taking the fingerprints is temporarily impossible, the diplomatic and work passports will be issued for 12 months.
