In the wake of weekend floods, the Centru district office will soon come up with a plan to avoid the problems caused by heavy rain, Info-Prim Neo reports. District head Vladimir Sarban has told a City Hall meeting on Monday the residents of the city are complaining that the authorities have done nothing to solve this problem. “Each year the situation is much the same. Following the heavy rains last Saturday, the streets Tabacaria Veche, Bazinului and Caramidarilor were again flooded”, said Sarban, adding that some yards were still full of water. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca informed that those who sustained losses during the weekend were entitled to claim amends from the City Hall's reserve fund. The rain storm on Saturday downed dozens of trees and brunches and even some lampposts. It took 184 trucks to collect and dispose of the garbage and debris produced by the storm. The power of the outpourings was so strong that some manholes across the city remained without covers.
