The woman director of a Chisinau company was sentenced to 10 years in jail for illegally selling commercial places and apartments. She swindled people out of over 1.5 million lei, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In August 2009, managing a homebuilding company, the woman sold an apartment to a person. Several months later, when the owners weren’t in the country, she sold the same apartment the second time, without transferring the money to the company.

In the period, the woman also sold another apartment according to the same scheme, though it was sold in 2007 and had owners. In November 2009, the woman managed to sell a commercial place that was sold to another person one year earlier.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
