The National Anticorruption Center started a criminal case over abuse of power by decision-makers of the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture when providing subsidies to farmers for purchasing machinery, IPN reports.
According to the Center’s press officer Angela Starinschi, a number of measures were taken within this case, including a search at the home of the Agency’s director Petru Maleru, who is not investigated as a suspect in this case for now.
The proceedings were instituted following relevant information received by anticorruption officers.
